Overall Design Scoring

The overall design of the BELLA is functional, but not particularly eye-catching so we’re not fans of neither its styling nor quality. Nevertheless, considering its affordability, along with a suit of practical accessories, we agree this blender is still a good value for money.

The Ninja BN401 Ninja Pro looks sporty on our kitchen counter. Its appeal is a combination of elegant style and sturdiness. The quality of build materials is impressively high and there is a wealth of hi-tech features so the price seems justified. Some people may find the two Auto-iQ presets convenient, but we don’t think they make much of a difference.

Hands-Free Operation
Overall Usability Scoring

The BELLA remains one of the most user-friendly personal blenders on the market due to its simple operation, straightforward assembly, and hassle-free cleaning process. The lack of pulse function may make it tricky to create chunky textures, but we believe it won’t take much time to find the way

Visually, much of this Ninja’s appeal comes from its Auto-iQ technology. To create a level playing field, however, we didn’t use this advanced feature in our scored tests. Instead, we employed the manual setting that is common to most personal blenders. But regardless of the setting, this blender is perfectly pleasant to use. It allows for entirely hands-free operation and its control buttons are very responsive.

Crushed Ice
Overall Performance Scoring

The BELLA is finely capable of preparing protein shakes and frozen fruit smoothies, but comes up short in liquifying leafy greens and pulverizing ice cues. For those that can make such compromises, this blender is the easy choice considering its price and the long list of extra accessories. Otherwise, we suggest considering the KOIOS Pro, which is similarly priced but offers more advanced capabilities.

The Ninja BN401 Nutri Pro doesn’t just look good. In our tests, it did a lot of things well, rarely compromising the way many single-serving blenders do. We made a quick protein shake from whole-food ingredients, a fibrous mixture with full nutrients, and a smoothie that couldn’t be silkier. But where our Ninja BN401 Nutri Pro really stood out was its ability to crush ice—you can fully pulverize 6 oz of whole ice cubes in only 14 seconds.

Pros & Cons

  • Adequate build quality allows for reliable performance.
  • The motor is less likely to overheat like some of its rivals.
  • It’s pretty good at processing frozen fruits and raw nuts.
  • Its ease of use provides a satisfying blending experience.
  • This blender is an all-arounder that works without a fuss.
  • Nearly all of its capability is outstanding—it’s very well equipped to crush ice and make smoothies.
  • The 1000-watt motor provides heavy-duty blending performance.
  • Smart preset programs are designed to deliver excellent consistency.
  • There are solid design details throughout the blender.
  • It may not add any aesthetic interest to your kitchen due to its inspired design.
  • The ability to liquify fibrous greens is compromised by the low price.
  • The resting period between blending intervals is longer than average, taking up to 3 minutes.
  • The motor base is roughly the same size as a standard full-sized blender.
  • It’s relatively noisy.

The Ninja BN401 boasts superior features that the Bella Rocket simply can't match. From its features to its motor power to its build quality, the Ninja is a clear winner. Admittedly, its operation isn’t as straightforward, but it more than makes up for that with intelligent programs designed to take the guesswork out of blending.

In our tests, we found this blender particularly effective at turning oats and frozen ingredients into a smooth liquid, and it was able to fully shred leafy vegetables like kale and spinach in just 20 seconds. The blender's 1000-watt motor and fast-spinning blade make it capable of grinding even solid ingredients like ice cubes into a snow-like consistency with ease, too.

In contrast, the Bella Rocket Blender is a fundamental blender with limited capabilities. While it achieved comparably smooth outcomes for protein shakes and frozen fruit smoothies, it faced challenges while breaking down leafy greens and whole ice cubes. Despite that, the decision to choose between these two blenders ultimately comes down to your budget, as the Ninja BN401 Nutri Pro appears to cost twice as much as the Bella Rocket.
