Overall Design Scoring

This machine is one of dozens of nearly identical low-priced hand blenders on the market that have no particular standout features. It sports a mid-powered motor that allows you to switch between various speed settings. And just like any portable item, it is designed for small spaces.

The Braun MultuQuick-5 has a friendly-user design. Its 300-watt motor powers a removable blending shaft quite efficiently . Depending on the recipe, the motor can also work with the whisk attachment, which is not something you get with most mid-range household blenders.

It, however, cannot run continuously more than a batch. To avoid being damaged, make sure you let your machine cool down for a couple of minutes between its operations.

This blender can't completely live up to its purpose. We were frustrated with it at every turn, from ease of use to cleanability. Below you can read our quick-hit notes on things that will possibly impair your blending experience.

This blender is designed to be extremely comfortable to hold and use, even with just one hand. Not only that, but it also doesn’t demand us to use too much elbow grease on food tailings when it comes to cleaning.

Overall Performance Scoring

The BELLA wasn’t the perfect immersion blender in any test but it turned out to be a surprise bargain, delivering results that were satisfying enough. The Inclusion of a whisk attachment also means it is one of the most capable models we’ve tried.

After a course of testing, we’re confident to conclude that the Braun MultiQuick 5 is the choice for most people, especially those who want the best bang for their buck. It’s the best mid-range blender that has more than enough power for your daily blending tasks, from frozen fruit smoothies to any recipe involving leafy greens. And with the handy whisk attachment, it saves you from buying a hand mixer for beating egg-whites and emulsifying sauces.

Pros & Cons

  • It features multiple speeds.
  • Extra attachments are included for greater versatility.
  • Blending wand is easy to remove and attach.
  • Consistent performance with minimal splashing
  • Nearly as efficient as the higher-priced Vitamix
  • Ergonomically-designed handle ensures a confident grip
  • Doesn’t get hot even under heavy-duty use
  • A generous set of accessories means greater versatility
  • Its performance is inconsistent.
  • The control buttons are hard to press.
  • The blade guard can cause damage to cookware surfaces.
  • The motor vibrates violently, making it very difficult to maneuver the blender.
  • The metal blending shaft and whisk may damage non-stick coatings

Conclusion

The Braun MultiQuick-5 represents the best balance of value and features. It comes with sharp blades and a mid-range 300-watt motor as standard. It also has a few additional features over the BELLA 10-Speed that justify its slightly higher price tag, including a silicone layer for a more comfortable grip and accessory ejection buttons for easier blade assembly.

Regarding blending effectiveness, the Braun MultiQuick-5 wins hand down. Even though a mid-range blender, there is barely a task that it can’t handle. Of course, the results are always acceptably smooth.

Indeed, the Braun MultiQuick-5 represents the best option, especially for low-budget buyers.
