DuPont and Brita are known names in the water filtering industry. So, how do they fare against one another?

In our lab test, both the DuPont WFFM100XCH and the Brita Basic got excellent score in the chlorine filtration section (10/10). Where they differ is in the filtering flow rate, or the speed that they produce clean water. We mounted both filters to a high-flow fauce (2.2 GPM), switch on the filtering mode, then measure the flow speed.

The Brita Basic is the faster one out of the two with a flow rate of 0.7 GPM. Meanwhile, the DuPont WFFM100XCH achieved a mediocre 0.46 GPM. This is lower than our minimum threshold of 0.5 GPM, resulting in it failing our flow rate test.

As a result, if you’re on the market for a faucet that can give you plenty of clean water quickly … the Brita Basic is the way to go.

Build quality-wise, both models are comparable. They have the same chrome-plated design, giving them a very clean and premium appearance. Our reviewers also positively rated the build quality of these filters.
