DuPont is a household name in many industries, including water filtering. At the moment, one of their best offerings is the DuPont WFFM100XCh faucet-mount water filter, which has been really popular for the past couple of years.

Putting it to the test, we found that the DuPont WFFM100XCH is a passable faucet-mount water filter. While it’s an acceptable product, it’s nowhere near perfect.

In our performance tests, the DuPont filter achieved a perfect score in the chlorine filtering test. Unfortunately, it lagged behind in the filtering flow rate test. It, and two other models in our database, are currently the only ones to fail this test.

The DuPont has a very slow filtering flow rate at 0.46 GPM. As a result, if you’d like your kitchen tap to flow quickly or you have low water pressure in your kitchen, it’s not the most optimal choice.

The Waterdrop WD-FC-01, on the other hand, did a lot better, with a perfect score in the chlorine filtration test and one of the fastest flow rates in our database (1.29 GPM.)

Design-wise, both models got decent scores. Though they’re made from plastic, Waterdrop and DuPont have built their products well. Durability’s going to be a concern, of course, but these filters should last for quite a while. Not to mention, both look great when they’re mounted to the tap!

Pros & Cons

  • Excellent chlorine filtration efficiency.
  • High filtering flow rate.
  • Unique design and installation system.
  • Replacement filter is readily available.
  • Chrome-plated design gives it a sharp appearance
  • Excellent chlorine filtering capability
  • Decent flow rate
  • Easy to install and use
  • While unique, the installation system of the filter is hard to figure out.
  • Plastic construction makes long-term durability a concern.
  • The filter has a very low maximum filtering capacity (100 gallons)
  • Only has one nozzle, so it’s hard to know what mode the filter has been switched into until you look at the routing valve’s handle
