Both the Waterdrop WD-FC-01 and the WD-FC-06 aced all of our performance tests. Against chlorine, both models were able to attain perfect scores by eliminating nearly all traces of chlorine in the water.

Their flow rates in filtration mode are also one of the best in our database, with the WD-FC-01 and WD-FC-06 attaining 1.39 and 1.4 GPM, respectively. But the difference is so slight between them that it can easily be attributed to a rounding error. In real-life use, it would be impossible to tell between them.

Where the two products differ is in design. The WD-FC-01 has a sleek, modular design. While it does look great, its plastic construction can prove to be an issue for long-term durability.

THe WD-FC-06, on the other hand, is made mostly from metal. Heavier and feels solid in hand, it should last a lot longer and be more durable than the WD-FC-01.

Altogether, the Waterdrop WD-FC-06 will make for a better purchase. But at half the price, the WD-FC-01 won’t be a bad alternative if you’re looking for a budget faucet-mount water filter.
