Both water filters did well in our hands-on performance tests. The Culligan FM-25 and the DuPont WFFM100XCH have perfect chlorine filtration performance. 

However, the DuPont has a lower filtering flow rate than the Culligan at 0.44 GPM. It’s one of the very few models in our database that failed the flow rate test.

On the other hand, the Culligan FM-25 managed to pass the test, but only barely, with a recorded flow rate of 0.5 GPM.

Both models aren’t ideal if you have a high-pressure faucet at home and are looking for a faucet-mount filter to maintain the flow speed. But if you have to choose between either, then the Culligan FM-25 will be the better option in this case.

Design-wise, both models are great. They’re made from sturdy materials, and we didn’t find any serious issues with their design.

  • The locking collar fixes the filter solidly to the tap, preventing it from wiggling around.
  • The push/pull routing valve is easy to use. Automatically reset after the tap is shut off.
  • Replacement filters are cheap, easy to find.
  • Chrome-plated design gives it a sharp appearance
  • Excellent chlorine filtering capability
  • Decent flow rate
  • Easy to install and use
  • Very low flow rate in filtration mode (0.5 GPM).
  • The filter of our unit leaked during testing.
  • The filter has a very low maximum filtering capacity (100 gallons)
  • Only has one nozzle, so it’s hard to know what mode the filter has been switched into until you look at the routing valve’s handle
