If you're looking for affordable vacuum sealers, two top options are the GERYON E2900-MS and the BonsenKitchen VS-2100. They have similar price tags, which might make your decision a bit tricky.

In our tests, the GERYON E2900-MS outperformed the BonsenKitchen in terms of suction power. The GERYON scored a decent 5.2 out of 10, while the BonsenKitchen was disappointing with a low 3.3 score. It failed both the dry and moist food tests during our lab evaluations.

The GERYON E2900-MS during the first moist food test session where we used it to pack fresh mango slices. It exhibited a peak suction of just 9 kPA in a 21-second working cycle.

The second test of the GERYON E2900-MS in the moist food test went more smoothly. Suction is higher this time around, peaking at 24 kPA in a 24-second working cycle.

In the first moist food test with fresh mango slices, the BonsenKitchen VS2100 vacuum sealer only reached a peak suction of 11 kPA in a 49-second working cycle.

The second moist food test didn’t play out any better with the BonsenKitchen VS2100. Our vacuum gauge recorded a peak suction of just 10 kPA during a 49-second working cycle.

The GERYON E2900-MS sealer looks rather cheap. Its lid may seem like metal, but it's actually a plastic plate with a metal-like finish.

The BonsenKitchen VS2100 is fairly well-built, but it’s still obvious even at a distance that the sealer is a budget model.

The sealer has a slightly flimsy feel to it due to being made almost entirely from plastic.

The lid of the vacuum sealer is tricky to use one-handed. The user has to apply even force on both sides of the lid for it to click close properly.

The BonsenKitchen VS2100 comes with small, raised “brackets” in the vacuum channel to keep the bag straight, but they don’t function as well as bag hooks.
