Tested Using Methodology v1.0Overall Verdict
The Hamilton Beach 31401 4-Slice Toaster Oven and the COMFEE CFO-BB101 Compact Toaster Oven had a back-and-forth battle. There wasn’t a clear winner overall—while the former had a slightly higher score than the latter, it also cost a bit more.
The Hamilton used 1200 W while the Comfee used 1000 W, which wasn’t all that different. Moreover, both units had two quartz heating elements, so it was hard to tell what food was cooked better because of which feature.
The Hamilton had a slightly higher score in baking pizza, while the Comfee edged it out in baking french fries. Then, the Hamilton suffered a heavy loss in roasting a whole chicken because it couldn’t properly cook the chicken within our time limit.
However, the Hamilton quickly struck back with its results in toasting bread. This was mostly due to the Hamilton’s control dials being more precise than the Comfee’s. The Comfee did have a detachable crumb tray, which made it more convenient to clean, though.
