Waterdrop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Review: The WD-G3-W
Reverse osmosis is a cost-effective and efficient way to filter impurities from drinking water. It uses a semi-permeable membrane to clear out contaminants, leaving your water clean and fresh.
The award-winning Waterdrop water filter is a smart, tankless system that takes up very little space under your sink. It features three plug and play filters and an LED display which provides information on water quality. It is capable of producing over 400 gallons of clean water per day.

Tankless Design
Most under sink filtration systems depend on a pressurized storage tank to provide the household with clean water, but the sleek and compact Waterdrop filtration system has no tank. It takes up less space and there is less chance for microbial build-up that can happen when water is stored rather than filtered on demand.
The compact unit stands just 5.7 inches wide on a footprint that will save up to 75% of the space under your sink. It needs no mounting; it stands on the shelf. The system includes a leak protector that, in an emergency, can automatically cut off the water and electrical supply to prevent damage.
Superior Filtration
The Waterdrop filtration system removes most contaminants including limescale, fluoride, and heavy metals. The filtration system includes three filters
- A three-stage pre-sediment and carbon block
- The three-stage reverse osmosis filter that can deal with contaminants as small as 0.0001μm. This means that 99% of all contaminants are removed from the water
- An activated carbon filter that makes the water taste fresh and natural.
Efficient Use of Water
The Waterdrop boasts a 1:1 ratio of good to wastewater thanks to the integrated pump. Compared to other reverse osmosis systems this amounts to a water-saving of up to 300%. The higher the water pressure, the less water you waste.
The internal pump also helps increase the flow rate, making it possible for the system to process up to 400 gallons per day. That translates to 0.27 gallon or 1 liter of pure water produced per minute.
Easy Installation and Maintenance
You won’t need a plumber to install this system. All the pipes connect onto the same side of the unit. There is a faucet included in the pack but you can use the one that is currently installed on your sink as long as the measurements are correct. The only requirement is a PSI of between 14.5 and 87.
The pre-sediment filter requires replacement every six months or after 550 gallons have run through it. The reverse osmosis membrane will last two years and the activated carbon filter one. You’ll accomplish the filter change in seconds. The three filters simply slide into the case from the front— no tools required.
An LCD on the faucet will indicate when the filters require changing. The LED display provides a reading of the TDS of the filtered water.
It is a versatile system that can hook up to the fridge and the kitchen sink, but it does require an electrical source.
