GE Continuous Feed 3/4 HP vs GE Disposall Green 1/2 HP Garbage Disposal Side-by-Side Comparison
GE Disposall Green 1/2 HP vs GE Continuous Feed 3/4 HP GFC720N Garbage Disposal: One is strong, and one is stronger.
GE Continuous Feed 3/4-HP
Tested Using Methodology v1.0GE Disposall Green 1/2 HP Garbage Disposal
Tested Using Methodology v1.0Overall Verdict
The GE Continuous Feed 3/4 HP model GFC720N and the GE Disposall Green 1/2 HP are both highly capable garbage disposals. Each is designed for specific needs, but both are geared with efficient permanent magnet motors and effective chamber layouts with stainless steel components.
Compared to the Disposall Green, the GFC720N has more raw power; it also has augmented impellers in the chamber with a beefier design. The Disposall Green is a smaller garbage disposal, but its 1/2-hp motor is the most effective among its peers. According to our performance data, these two are the best-performing models in their respective power ranges.
Performance testing showed the Disposal Green 1/2 HP handles random food scraps in large amounts even better than several 3/4-hp and 1-hp units we’ve tested, which is incredibly impressive for such a compact build. Grinding raw meat scraps, however, is not its thing.
The GE Continuous Feed 3/4 HP, on the other hand, is much more suitable for our raw meat scrap tests thanks to its stronger motor and enhanced grinding chamber design. Although you might not want to flush the likes of uncooked meat or skin down your sink drain, the tests help highlight the disposal’s ability to pulverize bones, cooked or raw.
If you need some help with cleanup food scraps, either disposal is a good option. Choosing between them is about your budget and your cabinet size, more than anything else. As you may have noticed, the 3/4-hp is a lot bigger than the GE Disposall Green, and it costs $20-30 more, too.
