Power
The juicer comes with a heavy-duty, 850-watt dual-speed motor for optimum juice and nutrient extraction. The 2-speed control settings allow you to customize the speed depending on the produce’s hardness and consistency quickly.
Ideally, use the low speed (6,500 RPM) for soft items like peeled oranges and the high speed (12,000 RPM) for hard produce like carrots.
Design
The JE98XL has a unique extraction system consisting of the company’s patented Nutri Disc, stainless steel blades, and mesh filter that help to spin out the pulp.
The body is made of durable heavy-grade polymer, weighing about 10 pounds and has dimensions of 13.2 by 16.5 by 18.2 inches.
It has a generously-sized 3-inch wide feeder chute, which eliminates the need to chop and slice ingredients before juicing. The pulp container with an integrated handle can provide greater convenience. Lastly, there is a 1-liter juice jug with a froth separator.
The juicer is also designed with a cord storage to reduce clutter.
Safety
The Breville JE98X has an Overload Protection LED light that automatically flashes when the juicer is overloaded to prevent the juicer from being damaged. A safety locking arm ensures that the machine only operates when the cover is locked into place.
Juice Quality and Yield
Since it has mechanisms in place to prevent overheating, the machine cannot affect the naturally-occurring enzymes and antioxidants. The result is high-quality juice that can remain fresh for up to 72 hours when refrigerated. All parts that come into direct contact with the produce and juice are BPA-free. The direct central feed system also ensures maximum juice yield.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Most of the JE98XL’s components are dishwasher safe. Except for the base, food pusher, disc, and mesh filter basket, which can only be hand-cleaned.
There’s an accompanying cleaning brush that makes it pretty easy to clean the mesh screen. Assembling and disassembling the parts is also simple.
Use warm, soapy water with a lemon juice solution to remove any discoloration of the plastic after juicing. We highly recommend you to clean the juicer immediately after juicing to prolong its longevity.

Noise
The juicer operates at high speed so it can be relatively noisy. But the motor is not so loud that it would disturb the neighbors. Regardless, if you’re sensitive to loud noises, you may have to consider a juicer with a slower motor.
