Everydrop Water Filter Review: The Super Filter Everyone’s Having in Their Fridge

Check the Everydrop water filter review to see if it can indeed make your refrigerator dispense clean, safe ice and drinking water.

By ·Updated

If you have a plumbed in refrigerator, there is one way to ensure that your water is clean and tastes fresh. That is to use an inline water filter designed to decontaminate the water before it is frozen or dispensed into your glass.

Refrigerator filters clean pollutants from the water by pushing it through filter chambers that contain activated charcoal and other screens. These clean sediments, chemicals and organic contaminants from the water. The Everydrop water filter is approved for use in Maytag, Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid and JennAir. It removes up to 28 contaminants from your chilled water.

Everydrop Water Filter Review: Best Features

Pros
  • Triple filtration system removes up to 28 contaminants
  • 99% removal of lead
  • NSF 401, 53 and 42 certified
Cons
  • The filter sometimes clogs and restricts the water flow

It Fits a Wide Range of Refrigerators

Manufactured by Whirlpool, the Everydrop has been approved for use in Maytag, Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid and JennAir refrigerators. It fits into a wide range of fridge water dispensers including those found in side by sides, and top and bottom freezer configurations.

NSF-certified Contaminant-free Water

The Everydrop is certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) to remove 99% of the lead in the water. It will also reduce the presence of another 27 contaminants, including pharmaceuticals, chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, bacteria and volatile organic compounds.

The triple filtration system ensures maximum cleansing of the water. The first filter removes larger sediments such as rust and debris. The next, a fine, mechanical filter will remove some of the organic compounds that can make the water smell or taste bad. The activated carbon filter takes out volatile organic compounds, chlorine, herbicides, and pesticides.

This filter carries NSF 401, 53 and 42 certifications.

200 Gallons of Clean Water

The Everydrop filter can produce clean, safe water, thus reducing the need for single use plastic bottles. In its lifetime, a filter can process 200 gallons of water, saving up to 1500 water bottles! If you’re looking to reduce your family’s plastic waste (and save money on the way), turning to filters like this one is one of the most effective ways to do it.

As the filter removes contaminants from the water, the pollutants will start to clog the filter, which impedes the flow of water. A water filter that isn’t replaced often enough will fail to remove the contaminants that it should. Worse, if left for long enough, it may begin to release the contaminants previously caught in the filter.

For best results, the filter must be replaced every six months, or after 200 gallons of water have flowed through it, whichever comes first. You will be reminded when it is time for a change. After you have changed the filter you will have to thoroughly flush the system. The initial waterflow after the change may appear a little cloudy but it will clear up.

By regularly changing the water filter you’re assured of clean, healthy, delicious water on-tap.
