Wingsol Faucet (WS-FM001-PAC) vs Brita Basic Faucet Side-by-Side Comparison
Which is the better faucet-mount water filter to choose between the Wingsol (WS-FM001-PAC) and the Brita Basic? This short comparison can tell you!
Wingsol Faucet Water Filter
Tested Using Methodology v1.0Brita Basic Faucet
Tested Using Methodology v1.0Overall Verdict
According to our lab test results, the Wingsol WS-FM001-PAC lags behind many other filters in multiple areas.
In our chlorine test, it's one of the only two filters in our database with a score below perfect (10/10). Although it removed most chemicals in the highly-chlorinated water we used in the test, our water testing kit detected a small amount left behind.
Fortunately, the Wingsol performed well in our filtering flow rate test. It can produce clean water at a rate of 0.9 GPM, making it the third fastest-working filter we've tested so far (behind the Waterdrop models).
Despite the stainless steel housing looking durable and decently premium, the finishing isn’t high, which is expected from a budget water filter. For example, the flared bottom of the removable cap on the filter compartment looks shoddy.
In contrast, the Brita Basic outperforms the Wingsol in terms of chlorine filtering performance, but its filtering flow rate is slightly worse at 0.7 GPM. The Brita Basic also boasts a better design than the Wingsol, with its chrome-plated plastic filter having a great finish and a fairly premium feel.
However, we found some manufacturing flaws in the unit we received, particularly with the loose fit of the filter cartridge into its compartment. During one performance test, the filter even shot out of the compartment and sprayed water everywhere.
Despite these issues, if you have to choose between the Wingsol and the Brita, we highly recommend the latter. Although it's a bit more expensive, the better filtering performance is worth the investment.
