Ingredients

The Filling

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2.7 oz onion 1/2 medium, diced
  • 2.8 oz carrot 1 medium, diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 5.3 oz green bell pepper 1 medium, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef

The Sauce

Instructions

The sauce:

  • Mix all of the sauce ingredients in a bowl. Set aside for later.

The filling:

  • Heat the oil on medium-high heat in a large skillet.
  • Sautée the veggies and garlic for 4 minutes.
  • Add the meat. Cook until brown.
  • Put the rest of the sauce ingredients in the skillet, mix well, and simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
  • When the filling’s ready, place it in bread buns and serve.

Notes

*Tip: toasting the buns in a heated pan with butter will make things even more aromatic. If you want to make it more beautiful, serve each bun on a dish with a crispy and fresh lettuce leaf.
