The Presenza QR045 range hood offers great values:
Airflow
Presenza’s QR045 fan has three speeds and maxes out at 300 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of suction. This meets the Home Ventilating Institute’s minimum standards for a 30-inch stovetop hood. The 300 should be fine most of the time in a ducted setting, but it’s possible that the hood might fall short in sudden smoky incidents. In return, the operation produces little noise.
For the purpose of air recirculating alone, the hood can deliver adequate performance with little effort
Convertible Setups
The Presenza can be configured to operate as ducted or ductless. The ducted or ventilation method is generally the best solution to kitchen air quality, but it does mean more work and possibly more complications. The ductless or recirculation method is inferior, but it does help filter (charcoal carbon) the air and making the air less hazardous.
Note that this range hood goes under the hanging cabinet. That means the duct will take up, but not all, storage space if you run the vent up through the ceiling.
The hood has both top and rear connection ports. A damper is included so you can choose either the standard 3 ¼ by 10 inches rectangular airway duct pipe or a 6- or 7-inch circular vent.
Filters Set
The hood comes with one aluminum mesh filter. Aluminum filters are not as good as stainless steel regarding durability, but they are effective, lighter, and considerably cheaper. There’s also a charcoal filter to switch the hood to recirculating mode.
The mesh filter is dishwasher-safe, but it’s advised for low-heat wash cycles only. The charcoal should be replaced after 120 hours of use.

Electronics
Nearly all modern range vent hoods include their own lighting, and the QR045 is no exception. A front-mounted button will switch on its two LED bulbs. Depending on how bright your kitchen lighting is, though, you might find them a bit blinding. Some users appreciate the powerful lighting; others may find it off-putting.
It’s worth noting that the unit is not equipped with an electrical plug. It’s meant to be spliced into the electric scheme of your kitchen directly. If you’re replacing a plug-in hood, it may be best to get the Presenza’s cord retrofitted with a three-prong plug.
