Garbage disposals can be incredibly helpful in any household. Not just because it can grind food and allows you to deal with food scraps right in your sink, but also because the machine has gotten substantially efficient.

An in-sink garbage grinder tackles the issue of residential waste management, especially in the kitchen. Too much food and organic waste can lead to a lot of complications, from health to daily life. Bacteria, wild animals, etc. are just to name a few.

Similar to the Badger 5XP, the Moen GXS75C ¾-horsepower food disposal unit is a good option for families that have a budget but are in dire need of adequate power. The model is strong, affordable, and it offers sound insulation, as well.

In this article, we’ll check out all the worth-noting characteristics of the Moen food disposer to see what its pros and cons are.

Moen Garbage Disposal Review: Main Features of the GXS75C GX Series

Moen GXS75C GX Series 3/4 Horsepower Garbage Disposal
Pros
  • Compact casing
  • Powerful torque
  • Stainless steel grind chamber
  • Finer results with multi-stage grinding
  • Sound-Seal insulation technology
Cons
  • Can be loud to some ear
  • Can be pricey

The Moen GXS75C GX has a handful of useful features that add much value to its essence:

Affordable yet Adequate Power

The Moen GXS75 bears a strong permanent magnet motor that can yield up to ¾ horsepower, which should provide enough force to grind down even bones. The chamber rotates at 2700 RPM (revolutions per minute), which further ensures the consistency of the results and reduce the risk of the motor getting lodged.

Sound Shield Technology

One of the most important features of this disposal is Moen’s Sound Shield, which is a noise deadening technology. Compared to better-insulated models, the machine is quieter to some extent, which is more than a welcome trait in the model’s price range

Easy to Install

Whether it takes time to install a garbage disposal or not depending on its mounting assembly and yours. The Moen GXS75C connects quickly to a 3-bolt sink flange as many other garbage disposals. In case you have the EZ-mount collar, you will need to remove it.

The 3-bolt flange itself may be a bit of a challenge to install considering its several parts, but its design is simple nonetheless. It’s the pipe drain that should be your concern, but we’re getting off track.

Lightweight Build

The food disposer is not large nor compact, and it’s not heavy at all, despite the capacity of its motor.

The casing is made of enduring, corrosion-proof plastic. The grind chamber and its parts are galvanized steel. Stainless steel is the preferred choice of material for machines that work with food, but galvanized steel is relatively durable, lighter, and costs less.

Reliable Quality

It’s true that Moen’s focus is not garbage disposal systems, but they do have a reputation to keep. The Moen GXS75C GX gives adequate specs, features, and consistency in performance that has been tested out by many of its owners.

The model is under a 5-year warranty.
