The Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill is a versatile, full size, full-featured charcoal grill that is excellent for barbecue and grilling.
Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill: Notable Features
The Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill has two levels of grills that provide a total of 816 square inches of cooking area. By turning a large crank, coals can be elevated and lowered to better control the cooking temperature. Numerous vents allow you to control the smoke and fine tune the temperature. Large front door allows stoking and tending of the coals. Convenient shelves on each side are handy for preparation.
The Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill is an attractive, solid looking grill that will look at home in any backyard. The enamel-coated steel surfaces are elegant and attractive. The hinged lid with wide gripped handle and convenient shelves make food preparation easy. You can easily move the grill around the backyard on its built-in wheels.
The grill surface is porcelain-coated cast iron. It’s attractive, corrosion-resistant, and easy to clean. The lower cooking area is 576 square inches, while the upper cooking area is 240 square inches. The upper cooking area is hinged together with the lid to provide access to the primary cooking area when the lid is open and lowers it over the heat when the lid is closed. The adjustable smokestack on the lid with adjustable flue is a nice functional and decorative touch.
Barbecuing With Total Control
To be honest, if you are just looking to grill some burgers, the Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill is probably an overkill. This grill excels at barbecue, which is where meat is cooked in a low-temperature smoking process. The two most important variables to control are temperature and the amount of smoke to control the flavor. With a built-in thermometer in the lid, numerous vents, adjustable flue and a coal elevator, those smoke and temperature are easy to control.
Of course, the Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill is more versatile than a dedicated smoker, because it will also grill those burgers and vegetables that are the bulk summer backyard cuisine. The Dyna Glo Charcoal Grill will keep you from needing to buy a separate grill and smoker.
Some people have complained about the quality of construction. In order to keep the weight of the grill down, Dyna Glo used lighter gauge sheet metal for the construction of the cooking chamber. That lighter weight does make it easier to open the lid. However, several reviewers have noticed smoke leaking from seams in the sheet metal lid. While that could be resolved easily with metalized tape, this really should have been resolved at the factory.
