Blendtec and Vitamix have been battling for the market in the blender industry for years now. They’re currently the most sought-after brands in the industry, offering both residential and commercial blenders. Both brands provide blenders with unique benefits. But which brand offers the best blenders in this Blendtec vs Vitamix battle?
Let’s find out!
There are five different series of Blendtec countertop blenders. They include:
It comes with a 3 horsepower motor, making it strong enough even for thick ingredients. Blendtec Fit blenders default to a 30-second cycle and offer an Add 10 button that allows customers to enjoy longer blend whenever required. However, the warranty of the blender only lasts for 2 years.
Classic 575 is an improvement of the Fit model and contains a longer 60- and 90-second cycle for blends requiring different blending times. It boasts 3 horsepower and comes with 5-speeds for manual control. You’ll also enjoy using the product with an 8-year standard warranty.
Blendtec’s Professional 725 is an intelligent and impressive blender with a SmartBlend technology that senses common blending issues like air pockets, overloading, or overheating. It has an 8-speed slider for expert precision and speed control. Regardless of this blender’s operating speed, its MultiSpeed Pulse ensures the machine operates as powerful as possible. It has an impressive motor of 3.8 horsepower.
Professional 800 is also an intelligent and impressive Blendtec blender that houses a 3.8 horsepower motor and an 11-speed slider. It also adds a drop-down cover to reduce noise levels.
Blendtec Wildside Jar
This product has everything you need in a blender. It houses a terrific 1560-W motor and a 4-inch blade for efficiency in blending almost everything put in it. It comes with a set of 6 pre-programmed cycles and 8-speeds. You’ll enjoy an 8-year warranty when using the product. The Wildside jar is huge, sufficient enough for a variety of blending jobs, including making soup. Plus, cleaning the entire blender is very straightforward.
There are five different series of Vitamix countertop blenders. They include:
E310 is Vitamix’s Classic Blender series brand well known for its simple, sturdy design. It offers a 2.0 horsepower motor, a pulse feature, a 10-speed control knob, 3-inch laser-cut blades, and a 5-year warranty for a fantastic blending experience.
5200 Standard model is an improvement of E310 with a larger, 64 oz container (enough to prepare hot soup) and a relatively more extended warranty of up to 7 years. However, its horsepower is the same at 2.0 horsepower.
7500 Low-Profile Blender
Vitamix 7500 Low-Profile blender comes with a smooth, extra present-day design and a much broader base to accommodate a 4-inch blade. It houses a 2.2 horsepower motor and offers better airflow and inner cooling gadget for efficient cooling and reduced noise levels. But that’s not all: Vitamix 7500 has a 10-speed variable control dial and a tamper to use to eliminate air wallets and push down components towards the blade.
Professional Series 750
The Professional Series 750 is where Vitamix pumps things up a little higher. The product offers a 2.2 horsepower and 5 pre-programmed settings for your more convenient walk-away functionality. You’ll also enjoy a 7-year warranty as well.
Vitamix Ascent Series
Launched in 2017, Vitamix Ascents have three major changes from other blenders like the 7500 and 5200. They come with multi-size containers, with 64 oz container being the full-size standard container. You’ll have the option of using the blender as a single-serve sized container or as a full-size container. They have a self-detect sensing technology to automatically detect the size of the container and adjust the blending times and program settings accordingly. And what about the warranty? Well, the blenders come with 10 years of warranty.
Blendtec vs Vitamix Blender Comparison
We compare the two brands boils down to factors like product warranty, motor horsepower, size of the container, quality, number of blades, and the desire for pre-programmed settings, among other factors.
Both Blendtec and Vitamix blenders come with much more powerful motors as compared to typical kitchen blenders. A standard Blendtec blender series draws more power at 13 amps/1560 W and 3 peak horsepower motor relative to standard Vitamix blenders drawing 11.5 amps/1380 W and 2 peak horsepower motor.
When reviewing blender blades, it’s important to consider the thickness, strength, and quality of the material. Both brands use the same blade material: stainless steel. However, Blendtec differs with Vitamix on the design of the blades. Blendtec series have 2-prong, dull blades, and Vitamix series have 4-prong blades, 2 cutting blades, and 2 dull hammermill blades.
But this doesn’t mean Vitamix’s 4-blades design is better than Blendtec’s 2-blades design. Both designs are able to pulverize any food materials without difficulty. In both designs also, the blades are attached to the blender container, although Blendtec blades are hardly removable from the container.
Most, if not all, of the latest Blendtec and Vitamix containers are made of BPA-Free copolyester plastic, hence their high-quality standard. This is seen from their lightweight and extremely hard to break characteristics. They hardly absorb the odors and colors of the ingredients (especially spices) fed in. But ensure to clean them properly after every blending to remove any discolor or unwanted smells. There are containers also designed for dry food grinding.
- Container Capacity: Both Blendtec and Vitamix provide a variety of container capacities (64-oz, 10.1 inches high being Vitamix’s standard capacity and 90-oz, 9.4 inches high for Blendtec WildSide jar) to match different customer needs. However, Blendtec jars have serious power and jar designs that may not allow them to be operated at full capacity - two-thirds fill is the best operational mark. Vitamix jars, on the other hand, have lids and relatively less power and can be filled to the top.
- Container Volume Markings: While both Blendtec and Vitamix jars are marked using easy measuring volume units in cups and oz, Blendtec jars are marked in black hence easy to see, unlike Vitamix jars’ clear markings that can hardly be seen. Newest Blendtec jars also have their measurements in ml and cl.
Both Vitamix and Blendtec have exceptional customer service that allows customers to fix and replace products under warranty easily and conveniently. Their warranty goes far beyond the typical 1 to 2-year warranty usually common with other regular blenders. In 1999, Vitamix introduced its 7-year Full Use warranty, which became the standard industry.
But it was not until 2014 when Blendtec introduced a full 8-year warranty, hence becoming the brand with the best warranty in the industry.
Vitamix has also introduced a 10-year warranty for some of the latest blenders, Vitamix Smart System blenders. Blendtec has been in the industry for 30+ years and Vitamix for 80+ years. It won’t be uncommon to find Blendtec or Vitamix customers who have used their blender for over 10 years without encountering unusual issues.
From different blender brands customer reviews, a majority of the market considers Blendtec and Vitamix reputable brands offering highly durable, easy to use, easy to clean blenders. Comparing the two brands, Blendtec vs. Vitamix, can be quite challenging. However, Vitamix’s high-end blenders offer top-notch quality, warranty, and brand reliability than Blendtec. We therefore recommend Vitamix blenders over Blendtec.
