The NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro personal blender can help those shorting on time and space enjoy the most nutrient-dense meals. It offers all the advantages that a full-sized countertop blender promises – heavy-duty use, consistent outcomes, and effortless performance — in a smaller, more compact footprint. It was peerless in all of our tests, outperforming its rivals in making protein shakes, preparing icy smoothies, and breaking down fiber. There’s also plenty of other things that we love about this NutriBullet; not just such outstanding performances.

Things We Like

  • It is very easy to use, assemble, and clean.
  • Stainless steel extractor blades are solid enough to power through even solid ingredients like ice cubes.
  • BPA-free plastic cups are durable and dishwasher safe.
  • A great tool for any recipes.
  • Hand-free operation offers superior convenience
  • Motor base can ensure stable performance.

Things We Don’t Like

  • We often have hard times cleaning the blade’s backsides.

Plenty of us have argued about what constitutes a good personal blender; blending efficiency alone is not enough. But after a course of hands-on testing on the NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro, we now have our own conclusions, thanks to its excellence in aspect.

How We Tested
Performance Scores
  • Protein Shake (40%)
  • Frozen Fruit Smoothie (30%)
  • Fibrous Greens (20%)
  • Crushed Ice Cubes (10%)

The NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro sports a 900-watt motor. It is more powerful than most personal blenders currently available on the market, passing all of our tests with outstanding results. Given its impressive testing performances, we assure that there is hardly anything that can challenge this blender. It will be your quick and convenient way to transform any whole foods into nutrient-dense meals, indeed.

Protein Shake

  • Blending Time: 40 seconds
  • Result: Silky Smooth
  • Unprocessed Chunks: No

The NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro is amazingly capable of preparing protein shakes. In this test, it is the fastest contender, churning out a work-out drink of silky smooth texture within only 40 seconds. It blended well enough that we didn't need to shake or apply any force to the cup to promote contact between the food and blade. The blender itself could draw everything toward its blades very efficiently. There even wasn’t anything clinging to the sides of the cup.

  • Blending Time: 50 seconds
  • Result: Silky Smooth
  • Unprocessed Chunks: No

The NutriBullet smoothie-making performance was only less than one minute long, but its result was unparalleled. Our smoothie came out exceptionally velvety. Although there were tiny flecks of raspberry’s skins and strawberry’s seeds still left behind, this is a common occurrence when it comes to processing such ingredients.

An elementary thing worth noting here is that none other personal blenders we tested could produce such desired texture in the same time frame; some even were not yet broken down strawberries.

Again, this blender worked without us having to fuss with hand shaking and we really couldn't be happier with this convenience.

Fibrous Greens

  • Blending Time: 20 seconds
  • Result: Fine
  • Unprocessed Chunks: Yes

Liquifying high-fiber whole food like leafy veggies is always a challenging task for personal blenders, but we found the NutriBullet’ ability in this regard to be promising and this is also what makes it significantly stand out from the rest.

In our test, it could break all the ingredients down into their finest state in only 20 seconds. We drained the completed drink through a mesh strainer and noticed it left behind just a small amount of leafy chunks. It could even produce a better result if we blended longer.

Actually, we didn’t expect to get this result that fast since most of the machines we tested earlier couldn’t finish this task within this time frame. For the most part, they churned out very coarse blends.

Crushed Ice Cubes

  • Ice Fineness: Very Fine
  • Amoun Tof Unblended Ice: 3% of 6 oz

The NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro is not only capable of crushing ice cubes but it is also excellent at this job. We tested a myriad of personal blenders, and so far haven't seen any machine that can crush ice as fluffy as this one.

It finished the test in about 40 seconds. A couple of ice cubes still remained solid, but we presumed the results weren’t going to improve any further when the blender itself couldn’t force the ice back down onto the blades. Nevertheless, this NutriBullet did have an outstanding performance, winning all its peers hands-down.

This blender comes with an ideal size, ensuring ultimate portability and easy storage. Although it’s bigger than some single-serve models, such as the Ninja Fit, it won’t take up too much space on your counter or in your cabinet.

Build Quality

NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro Build Quality

It seems that this blender has a flawless finish. Its build quality is more than acceptable and surprisingly better than most rivals. It is also more pleasing to the eye with an exterior that won’t easily scratch, from the motor base to the blending cup. For the most part, we agree the NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro is more decent than it looks.

Extractor Blade

  • Type:
    Sharp Blade

  • Blade Count:
  • Removable:
  • Dishwasher Safe:

The blade is made of high-quality stainless steel and has 6 prongs. Solidly built, it is even more heavy-duty than it seems on paper. Still, it is advised that you shouldn't use it for dry grinding or as a regular ice crusher since this may impair its efficiency or even its lifespan.

Motor Base

  • Rated Voltage:
    110 - 120 V
  • Rated Power:
    900 Watt
  • Rated Working Time:

  • Weight:
    3.7 lbs
  • Power Cord Length:
    2.5 ft
  • Extra Feature:
    Silicon feet

Peaking around 900 watt, the motor is powerful enough to handle just about any blending creativity. However, be aware that it cannot run longer than 1 minute. If more than 1-minute blend is needed, you should allow the motor to cool down for 20-30 seconds before continuing next 1-minute intervals. This will help protect your machine from being permanently damaged.

There are four silicone feet on the bottom of the base to keep it standing steadily during the operation. So far, we haven't experienced an issue where our blender rocks around on the counter while tackling intensive tasks like crushing ice cubes.

The rubber gasket built around its top is also very helpful. It’s meant to hold the cup tightly to the base, reducing the risk of leakage. That being said, we’re quite disappointed about the power cord. It is so short that it often got pulled from the outlet when we were using it.

Blending Cup

  • Dishwasher Safe:
  • Measurement Marks:
  • Suitable For:
    Small and medium batches
  • Extra Accessories:
    2 to-go lids, 2 cup rings, 2 handled rings

There are two blending cups with lids included. They have the same capacity (32 oz) and can be used interchangeably with the extractor blade. The lid screws on tight with a flip-top spout. Its sealing capability is so good that we experienced no leakage when turning the cup upside down. As a nice bonus, this blender also comes with removable lip rings, which means to make it easier for sipping straight from the blender cup.

Speed and Controls

This blender has one speed but no particular control for activation. This makes it a great choice for people who want a blender that just works without having to be overwhelmed by settings. To use, you simply place the blending cup onto the motor base, then push and twist it.  You can also simulate pulse mode by pressing and releasing the cup in short intervals.

How We Rated
usability Scores
  • Hands-Free Operation (60%)
  • Assembly (20%)
  • Cleanability (20%)

The NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro perfectly fits our definition of a blender with good usability. It is a breeze to use with a straightforward working mechanism. It is also effortless to clean and assemble. So far, we haven’t had any complaints about this little workhorse.

Hands-Free Operation

Play video
NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro Hands-Free Operation Video

We awarded this blender maximum points for this aspect and this means that whatever the task at hand is, it allows you to get the job done with minimum physical effort.

While several personal blenders we tested demand us to hold the cup in place  throughout the operation to engage the motor, the NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro is more fun to use when you can take your hands off it once the cup is securely attached to the motor base.

And as mentioned earlier, in our tests, it didn’t need any extra shaking or stirring to dislodge the chunks trapped in the blade’s backsides; it created an even blend entirely on its own.

Blade assembly is the easiest part of using the NutriBullet 900-Watt Pro. Once the extractor blade screws tightly to the blending cup, you push and twist it side-down onto the motor base to begin blending. Removing the cup is also straightforward. Just gently pushing and untwisting it counterclockwise.

Cleaning this blender is easy, simply place the pieces (except for the motor base and extractor blade) on the top rack of the dishwasher or hand wash with soapy water and rinse well.

Regarding the motor base, you can use a non-abrasive sponge or dish cloth dampened with soapy water, wiping down its inside and outside until clean, but sometimes it may require you to extra use a small brush to remove the sticky debris from the white actuator tabs.

The extractor blade, on the other hand, is a little tricker to clean. We found it’s almost impossible to reach the blade’s backside unless you use a straw-cleaning brush.
